Vladimir Shagramanov Sanctions

GENOVEVA GALVEZ VS LA METRO TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY - The judge's order states Vladimir Shagramanov is the attorney for the plaintiff. This representation is confirmed in the court's online case records.

From the tentative ruling this is what happened:

Attorney Vladimir Shagramanov represents the plaintiff in this case.

The defendant served discovery on Mr. Shagramanov's client. This consisted of written questions to answer and a request that certain facts be admitted as true.

There are generally thirty days to respond to discovery.

There was no response from attorney Shagramanov's law firm.

This caused the defense attorney to send a letter about the discovery and requesting a response.

Apparently, Vladimir Shagramanov, Esq., did not respond to that letter, as we read the order.

The defendant then filed motions to compel.

However, despite filing a motion there was still no responses from plaintiff or explanation from her attorney.

Futher, Mr. Shagramanav apparently did not file an opposition to the motions to compel.

The judge said sanctions are appropriate when one is acting without substantial justification.

After reviewing the situation the judge personally sanctioned attorned Vladimir Shagramanov $540, payable within thirty days.

The court also ordered Mr.Shagramanov's client to answer the written questions, without objection.

Finally, the judge said all the facts in the requests for admissions would be deemed admitted.

The latter could be much more important than the monetary penalty. If the discovery was decent the facts now admitted could be harmful to plaintiff's case, if not decisive of the outcome. In other words, attorney Shagramanov and his client may have just lost or harmed the case.

UPDATE: ATTEMPTED FRAUD BY VLADIMIR SHAGRAMANOV

Vladimir Shagramanov sent us the following message from email vlawdimir@gmail.com - an email address which matches that on record with the California State Bar:

"My name is Vladimir Shagramanov.
Page 19561

You posted information about me that is incorrect and was based on TENTATIVE ruling, which was not the final ruling in the case.
There was NO SANCTIONS posted by the judge, therefore, your posting is FACTUALLY incorrect. Please remove it immediately or in alternative post the proper court ruling."

Of course we want to be as accurate as possible. So we went to the court's records.

1. Here is the court's minute order stating that the tentative ruling became the court's final ruling. The court record reflects Vladimir Shagramanov did not appear for the hearing.

2. Here is the notice of final ruling served by defendant's counsel. This notice was served on attorney Vladimir Shagramanov. The final order plainly states attorney Vladimir Shagramanov was sanctioned $540.

It is truly bizarre that Vladimir Shagramanov would try to defraud us by falsely representing he was not sanctioned when in fact he was. Attorney Shagramanov is, flatly, a liar who cannot be trusted. We do not recommend that this attorney be hired by anyone for any reason.

Questions and Answers

Would you hire Vladimir Shagramanov to be your attorney?

No. Not after he lied to us and there is nothing positive about the attorney's conduct in the order from the judge.

Not only was Shagramanov personally sanctioned, his client was too, and with facts being admitted the case could be lost, or at minimum damaged.

This is bad and we would expect an attorney to be more proactive to prevent such an outcome. Otherwise, perhaps he should have withdrawn as counsel, or maybe not be an attorney if this is the type of representation one gets.

All attorneys like to talk about how aggressive they are, but then you get to read how an attorney really handles a case. From a judge.
