TENTATIVE RULING RE: MOTION TO BE RELIEVED AS COUNSEL

The above-entitled action comes on for hearing before the Honorable Thomas E. Kuhnle on March 1, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. in Department 5. The Court now issues its tentative ruling as follows:

I. INTRODUCTION

This is a putative class action. Ayse Kuzucuoglu, counsel for plaintiff Zuri Lazard, moves to be relieved as counsel pursuant to Code of Civil Procedure section 284(2) and California Rules of Court, rule 3.1362.

II. DISCUSSION

California Rules of Court, rule 3.1362 sets forth the procedure for moving to be relieved as counsel. Kuzucuoglu has complied with rule 3.1362. Kuzucuoglu does not provide details regarding the reason for the motion, but states the specific facts giving rise to the motion are confidential and subject to the attorney-client privilege. No opposition has been filed by plaintiff Lazard. The Court finds Kuzucuoglu has justified the motion to be relieved as counsel.

Accordingly, the motion to be relieved as counsel is GRANTED.

The Court will execute and enter the required Judicial Council Form (MC-053) if this tentative ruling is not contested.

NOTICE: The Court does not provide court reporters for proceedings in the complex civil litigation departments. Parties may arrange for a private court reporter to provide services, but those arrangements must be consistent with the local rules and policies posted on the Court’s website.
