BC508516

Defendant University of Southern California’s unopposed (1) Motion to Compel Responses to Demand for Production; (2) Motion to Compel Responses to Form Interrogatories; and Request for Sanctions are GRANTED. Defendant served the discovery at issue on plaintiff on June 24, 2013. To date, plaintiff has failed to serve responses to the discovery. Accordingly, plaintiff is ordered to serve verified responses, without objection, to the Demand for Production and Form Interrogatories within 10 days of the date of this order.

Defendant’s requests for sanctions are GRANTED, in part. Defendant’s requests for sanctions are overstated. The motions are virtually identical, exceedingly simple, they are unopposed, and there will be only one hearing on all three motions so only one appearance is necessary. Pursuant to CCP §§ 2030.290(c) and 2031.300(c), plaintiff and/or plaintiff’s counsel of record is ordered to pay sanctions in the amount of $570.00 (two hours for preparation of both motions, one hour for the hearing (the motions are unopposed so the court encourages counsel to avail herself of CourtCall rather than drive from Woodland Hills to appear in court), filing fees) to defendant and/or defendant’s counsel of record within 10 days of the date of this order.

Moving party is ordered to give notice.
