Defendants’ Motion to Compel Plaintiff’s Deposition and to Produce Documents; Request for Sanctions, filed on 1/30/19 is GRANTED. Plaintiff, Anita Van Duyn, is ordered to appear for deposition and produce documents without objection within the next 10 days as duly noticed by Defendants. Cal. Code Civ. Proc. § 2025.450.

A party can move to compel a party’s deposition where the deponent fails to proceed with the examination. Cal. Code Civ. Proc. § 2025.450.

Defendants have shown good cause to compel Plaintiff’s appearance at deposition and produce documents. Cal Code Civ. Proc. § 2025.450(b). Plaintiff has not shown any justification for failing to appear for her deposition. Nor has Plaintiff’s counsel explained the failure to meet and confer.

The Court imposes sanctions of $545 against Plaintiff, Anita Van Duyn, and her counsel of record, Cannon Bohn LLP, for failing to submit for a deposition, producing documents, and failing to respond to Defendant’s effort to meet and confer. No opposition has been filed. Cal. Code Civ. Proc. §2025.450(g)(1); Cal. Code Civ. Proc., § 2023.010(d), (i). Such sanctions are payable within thirty (30) days.
