MOTION TO COMPEL DEPOSITION OF PLAINTIFF AND FOR $1,043.44 IN COSTS, $5,400.00 IN FEES AND $2,000.00 IN ADDITIONAL SANCTIONS AGAINST PLAINTIFF BY RICOH USA, INC., ROBERT BROWNING AND ROBERT HALF INTERNATIONAL, INC. TENTATIVE RULING:

Defendants’ joint Motion to Compel Plaintiff’s Deposition is GRANTED in part. Plaintiff is ordered to appear for deposition no later than April 15, 2019.

Defendants’ Request for Sanctions is GRANTED in part. Plaintiff shall pay $2,300.00 in sanctions to Defendant Ricoh within 30 days of this Order. Plaintiff shall pay $1,801.02 in sanctions to Defendant Robert Half within 30 days of this Order.

Defendants’ request for $2,000.00 in additional sanctions and “that they be permitted to appear at any future deposition of Plaintiff by telephone and/or videoconference without further notice of such appearance, should they elect to do so,” are DENIED. Defendants’ request is not supported by argument or authority. If the tentative ruling is uncontested, it shall become the order of the Court. Thereafter, counsel for Defendants shall prepare a written order consistent with the Court’s ruling for the Court’s signature, pursuant to California Rules of Court, Rule 3.1312, and provide written notice of the ruling to all parties who have appeared in the action, as required by law and the California Rules of Court.
