Counsel’s unopposed motion to withdraw as counsel of record for Defendant Saeed Dabestani is denied without prejudice.

Counsel’s declaration indicates that the motion was served at the client’s last known address. Counsel declared that he was unable to confirm a more current address after mailing the motion papers to the client’s last known address return receipt requested and calling the client’s last known telephone number.

Counsel’s declaration does not reflect reasonable efforts to locate a more current address for the client within thirty days prior to filing the motion as required by CRC rule 3.1362(d)(2). Counsel must do more than simply mail the motion to the last known address and call the last know telephone number.

In addition, if counsel is unable to locate a more current address after undertaking reasonable efforts, service on the client for future motions must be made on the clerk of the court pursuant to CCP § 1011(b) and CRC 3.252.
