Three (3) Motions by Defendant, Julian Han, to Compel Plaintiff, Wan Ho, to Respond to Form Interrogatories, Special Interrogatories, and Request for Production of Documents; Request for Sanctions, filed on 8/17/18, are GRANTED.

Plaintiff, Wan Ho, is ordered to provide responses without objection to the foregoing discovery within 10 days. Cal. Code Civ. Procedure §§ 2031.300, 2030.290.

Defendant’s Motion for an Order to Deem Admitted Truth of Facts and Genuineness of Documents and Request for Sanctions, filed on 8/17/18 is GRANTED. Cal. Code Civ. Procedure §2033.280(b). The court will deem the requests admitted unless, before the hearing on the motion, Plaintiff serves a proposed response to the requests for admission that is in substantial compliance with Section 2033.220. Cal. Code Civ. Procedure §2033.280(b).

The court imposes total sanctions of $1,040.00 for all four motions in favor of Defendant and against Plaintiff Wan Ho, and counsel Andrew Chin, for Plaintiff’s failure to respond to authorized methods of discovery, which constitutes discovery abuse, and whose conduct necessitated these motions. Cal. Code Civ. Procedure §2023.010(a)(4); § 2033.280(c). Such sanctions are payable within thirty (30) days.
