ROSA ZAMORA AGUILAR VS RAUL NAJERA - This tentative ruling says Harout Balian, representing the plaintiff, was being sanctioned $1260 by the court due to a discovery motion the defendant was required to file.

Apparently, the situation was so bad attorney Harout Balian did not even try to oppose the motion and request for sanctions.

The judge said defendants sent plaintiff written questions to answer and a request for documents. Apparently, Balian's client never responded.

The court then not only sanctioned the plaintiff but also sanctioned Harout Balian, Esq, requiring him to pay the $1260.

Lawzilla Update: We went back to the court records to see what happened after the above tentative ruling was issued. After a continuance of the motion the judge ultimately sanctioned attorney Harout Balian, or at least his law firm, $660. Better than $1260, but still an ugly ruling finding an attorney deserved to be sanctioned.
