Edward M. Chavez State Bar Sanctions

On February 11, 2011, Edward Chavez stipulated to misconduct and was suspended from being an attorney for three years. The suspension was stayed, with three years of probation and one year of actual suspension.

According to the State Bar's website, the suspension was for stealing $4000 in client money from a settlement. It was about a year later before he repaid his client.

Additionally, in a probate case Edward Chavez was hired in he failed to provide promised legal representation.

Edward Chavez was also suspended in 2001 and 2011 for failing to pay his bar dues.
