Nolan Del Campo Suspended by State Bar 3 Times!

Judge Sanctions $487.50 for Abuse in Case

Del Campo v Pueyo and Del Campo v Lesley Sacramento County Superior Court Case Number 2017-00220721.

From the Sacramento court online case records it is Lawzilla's understanding the following occurred:

Attorney Nolan Del Campo is the plaintiff in a lawsuit claiming defendant Lesley Pueyo owed money for the payment of legal services.

During the lawsuit Mr. Del Campo served Ms. Pueyo with a request to produce documents.

He received a response on May 10th.

Contending the response was inadequate he filed a motion to compel more than seven months later on December 31st.

The judge said the law is that a motion must be filed within 45 days after receiving the response.

Lesley Pueyo sought sanctions because Nolan Del Campo had waived his right to file a motion by not filing within 45 days.

The judge said Attorney Nolan Del Campo then withdrew his motion.

However, the judge ruled the withdrawal did not affect Pueyo's sanctions request.

The judge then ordered attorney Nolan Del Campo to pay $487.50 in sanctions for filing a motion without substantial justification.

California State Bar Suspensions

Nolan Del Campo's state bar record reflects three prior suspension orders.

After initially being suspended from practicing law and then put on probation, it is Lawzilla's understanding the bar ruled Del Campo kept failing to comply with the conditions of his probation resulting in additional suspensions.

- Del Campo failed to file reports about his practice on time.

- He did not attend ethics school and pass the test.

- He did not make restitution and provide proof of payment.

Lawzilla Opinion and Review

From the Sacramento court record we believe Nolan Del Campo requested and received a fee waiver. Wow!

In addition to the sanctions and the multiple bar suspensions, would you hire an attorney who could not even afford to file their own lawsuit?

Would you hire an attorney who could not even comply with probation requirements, such as timely filing a report, to avoid being suspended?

There are thousands of great attorneys in California. We suggest finding one.

Lawzilla found a California State Bar order, involving a different attorney, that being sanctioned can itself cause State Bar discipline for failing to competently perform legal services.
