Trivia and Some Answers to Questions About Robert L. Shapiro

Did the glove fit OJ? Apparently not!

Was Shapiro accused of taking $500,000 in cash in various bags in a house? Yes. The case is here.

What does it mean that case that Robert Shapiro is a non-equity partner and his criminal work is handled by a different firm? It could mean that Robert Shapiro is in part lending his name to the firm to attract civil clients, and in return getting paid. A "non-equity" partner means Shapiro is not an owner sharing in profits and losses of the firm. It is common to see attorneys listed as a "partner" in the firm, but that is in name only, and there can be many reasons for this.

Does Shapiro really charge a $100,000 retainer? One of the attorneys for the now disbarred Trevor Law Group claimed Shapiro contacted the firm and offered to defend them if they gave him a $100,000 retainer. While the Trevor attorneys may not be the most credible source, it seems plausible.

Robert Shapiro is one of the co-founders of Legal Zoom.
